The Graduate Recruitment Programme 
For anyone looking to secure a position in a new industry the prospect of application forms, interviews and assessment centres can be a daunting experience.
With this in mind CHASE set up a specific framework to guide graduates through this process to give them a competitive advantage through the recruitment process for medical sales roles in both the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry.
CHASE has supported graduates and those new to the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry since our inception in 1998. This process was formalised in March 2004 when The CHASE Graduate Recruitment Programme was established.
We provide guidance on CVs, interviewing skills and assessment centres. The programme has been tailored to fit the needs of graduates to help them identify their transferable skills and give guidance on interview and assessment preparation.
The service provided by CHASE gives graduates a superb introduction and grounding into a highly competitive and exciting industry.

My advice would be to get shadowing as many Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives as you can and as soon as possible. It is one thing to read and hear about the job, but it is another thing getting out on the road to see what happens on a daily basis. This will not only secure the decision in your mind, but also the opinion of your interviewer as to your underlying motives behind the decision. After this experience, I would then advise you to rewrite your CV, tweaking the way it is written to highlight the key skills needed for this particular role which will then set your CV out ahead of the competition.
When you reach the interview stage be confident and relaxed, engage with your interviewer as much as possible and try to relax. I would say that it is important to plan ahead and ask intelligent questions at the end to show dedication to that particular company too. Interviews are not only a chance for them to see if you would be good fit for the company, but you also need to establish whether or not the match is right for you.
CHASE has been a fantastic company right from the very start. My predominant experience was with Catherine who is extremely friendly and was there to offer support and advice whenever I needed it. She was great at identifying my strengths, improving areas of weakness and generally giving good interview technique advice to enable you to make a greater impact at assessment centres. Unlike other agencies, you feel valued as a candidate and not just a voice at the end of the phone. I would definitely choose to use CHASE again in the future and I would highly recommend them to any graduate wanting to get into the pharmaceutical industry.

The first thing I would recommend for a graduate looking to enter the pharmaceutical industry is that they must be sure they want to enter it. I did some research into the industry through the internet to give myself a thorough understanding of what it is all about. I also made sure I was aware of current issues surrounding the industry, which I was able to draw on for interviews. I then arranged to shadow a medical rep so that I could have a practical understanding of what the job entails. This was highly useful as I was able to see what skills are needed for the job, which meant I was also able to emphasise these at interviews. It is also very useful to research the companies you are being interviewed by; as this may put you a step ahead of other candidates for the role.
CHASE were the first and only recruitment agency I approached. There are a few reasons why I approached them. Primarily I was struggling to get a job independently; I found that I was being rejected due to my lack of experience. Secondly, CHASE had come highly recommended to me, and after looking at the website I found they had a graduate scheme which suited my needs. After their quick response to my application, and my interview with Catherine, I felt confident that I would not need to look elsewhere to get into the industry.
I found CHASE to be very helpful; they matched jobs to my interests, aspirations and personality. They were quick to respond to me, and gave a highly individualised service. They supported me the whole way through the process and were on call for advice whenever I needed it. The advice ranged from how to present my CV, to preparing me for interviews and assessment centres. Be certain that you can match your strengths to the job role; you need to have an interest in the ethics of the pharmaceutical industry as well as a hunger and desire to achieve goals in a competitive sales environment.
